In her role overseeing NFA's key regulatory department, she developed strong working relationships with staff at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), Securities and Exchange Commission, and other non-domestic regulators. This experience makes her well positioned to advise clients during their interactions with regulators and to help advocate for more efficient and effective regulatory solutions.
Ms. Thoele is viewed as an industry expert and regularly speaks at industry conferences and other compliance-related forums regarding the state of the industry and current regulatory topics. She has provided various training programs to federal agencies and criminal authorities and has served as an expert witness in a CFTC matter.
Ms. Thoele received her B.S. in finance from Indiana University. She also maintains various certifications, including Certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional through the NASD (FINRA) Institute at The Wharton School, Certified Fraud Examiner through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, as well as a Series 3 license and successful completion of NFA's swap proficiency requirements.
